The Travel Rebellion
Travel is amazing, everyone deserves great adventures.
But the tourism industry has a dark side. Businesses want our money. And they’ll exploit host countries to get it.
Animals are tortured for our entertainment. Water is being redirected from local people to pools. Coral is being destroyed by cruise ships. And the staff that serve us are living in slum conditions.
Travellers spent $1.34 trillion in 2014. Let’s put this power good use.
Rebel against cruel businesses. Support amazing projects instead, and vote with your money for a kinder industry.
Whether your adventures are big or small. It only takes tiny tweaks to start empowering local people, protecting wildlife and making this world a better place for everyone.
LEARN
Hidden human and animal exploitation occurs at almost every destination we visit. It’s horrible to read about. But it is incredibly important that we do.
We need to expose exploitation so we can change it!

Hi, I’m Lottie!
I won the parent lottery and was raised by two adventures. Every year we visited a new incredible country.
I believed travel was bringing the world together and could only be a force for good.
That all changed when I studied ‘The Impact Of Tourism On The Developing World’ at University.
I realised some of my experiences, like elephant riding, had come at a cost. I’d unknowingly exploited local people and wildlife.
Overnight I became an advocate for ethical travel. My adventures changed and I loved travelling even more, knowing I was making a positive impact.
I wanted to share everything I’d learnt and encourage other people to have incredible ethical adventures too.
I founded The Travel Rebellion as a small blog in 2015. It’s now grown up into a responsible travel agency with a blog that reaches over 59,000 people annually!
